Brand Overview — What & Why
What is Kilimanjaro Coffee Roasters?
Kilimanjaro Coffee Roasters is an Israeli small-batch specialty roastery committed to freshness and traceability.
We roast single-origin and blend coffees in small lots to highlight origin character. Our coffees are sold under Kilimanjaro Coffee and a specialty line called Lion of Zion.
The roastery’s name is inspired by the majesty of Mt. Kilimanjaro, though our current coffees come from other origins.
What is Lion of Zion?
Lion of Zion is our curated line of bold, narrative-driven coffees created to amplify provenance and community.
Each Lion of Zion coffee has a defined flavor profile and roast recommendation. Lion of Zion was launched after Oct 7 to celebrate resilience and courage in challenging times.
Who roasts the coffee?
All roasting is performed by our head roaster and a small in-house team in our micro-roastery in Israel.
Every batch is hand-monitored to meet target roast curves and flavor goals.
Our Roasting Process
What is your roast batch size?
We roast 2 kg green at a time, yielding about 1.75 kg roasted per batch.
This small-batch approach lets us tune profiles per origin and ship fresh.
How do you ensure roast consistency?
We use roast curves, profile logging, and cupping checks for every lot.
Cupping is performed on each lot, and roast logs are kept to replicate successful batches.
Roast Levels & Product Facts
What roast levels do you offer?
We focus exclusively on medium roasts, which provide a perfect balance of sweetness, body, and clarity.
This roast level highlights the natural flavors and aromas of each origin, making it versatile for filter brewing, espresso, or milk-based drinks. By specializing in medium roasts, we ensure a consistent, high-quality experience in every cup.
What bag sizes & grind options are available?
We sell 500g and 1kg bags in whole-bean and multiple ground options.
Grind options are selectable on product pages (espresso, filter, french press, cold brew).

Freshness & Storage
When is my coffee roasted and shipped?
Each bag is labeled with its roast date.
We aim to ship coffee within 7 days of roasting, ensuring maximum freshness.
How to store coffee for best results
Store coffee in an airtight container, in a cool, dark place, away from light and heat.
Whole-bean coffee stays fresher longer — grind just before brewing when possible.
Certifications, Sourcing & Packaging
Where do your beans come from?
We source all of our green coffee from trusted specialty-grade importers here in Israel who work directly with reputable farms and co-ops around the world.
This ensures consistent quality, traceability, and freshness without the complexity and delays of direct-to-farm logistics.
Do you list origins on each product page?
While we don’t list detailed farm-level origin information on every product page, each coffee is roasted with the same care and standards applied to all specialty coffees: freshness, proper development, and a flavor profile that stays true to the region.
What about packaging?
We’d love to use fully recyclable bags, but today most recyclable options don’t protect coffee well enough during storage or shipping. Freshly roasted coffee needs a high-barrier bag to stay aromatic and flavorful, and those are usually made from mixed materials that can’t be recycled. So for now, we use the packaging that best preserves freshness — even though it isn’t recyclable yet.
